In memory of.

We would like to dedicate this weekend's market to two illustrious traders who we have sadly, recently lost.

Alex Mahmoud (pictured) ran a beautiful vintage jewellery stall, filled with treasures sourced from his home in Egypt, he was warm and gentle and attracted so many customers to the market with his multilingual skills.

Ian Silbiger, who traded here regularly for many years selling bags, until about two years ago. He bought an incredible professionalism (and IT skills), combining his job as a manager at John Lewis during the week and spending his weekends, often with his young son by his side, on his stall at the market.

In the words of our market manager ‘They shared a remarkable simplicity and finesse that was second to none, a commitment to the virtues of ideal family life. It’s a sad time for all those close to these incredible gentlemen.’

We would like to extend our condolences to their respective families.
