Get Ready for the Street Eats Halal Food Festival

With so much choice, here are some tips to get you started on your feasting at this weekend's event.

If you are visiting this weekend’s Street Eats food festival from Halal Gems, prepare to be bombarded by choice.

You can find details of their traders and how to get your hands on a discount wristband for the free event here. But if you are keen to get ahead of the game, so you don’t miss out on some of the foodie highlights, here are a few dishes we think you might want to target first…

Baklava Ice Cream Sandwich from Darlish

This luxury pistachio baklava sandwiching a layer of sweet cream ice cream is just as incredible as it sounds. Usually only available at Darlish’s St Albans ice cream parlour and Persian restaurant Berenjak, Street Eats is a rare chance to get your hands on this award-winner and their other beautiful flavour combinations.

Macaroni Lollies from Band of Burgers

It’s Mac n Cheese, but not as we know it. These “lollies” feature crispy deep-fried macaroni cheese served with spicy red pepper relish and garlic sour cream (pictured below left). Brought to you by Brick Lane and Camden restaurant legends Band of Burgers.

Loaded Fries from Fries Day

Get ready for the best-tasting Belgian-style fries, topped with a range of delicious choices. Bradford’s Friesday are heading South to bring you tempting toppings including Smoked Cheese (pictured bottom right) and Meaty, plus dips including blue cheese mayo and mango chutney.
