Embracing Autumn in the Market
Spookily seasonal eats and treats to explore this October, from food to photo opportunities.
Pose with a Pumpkin
Free, Market floor by Brushfield Street entrance
We’re getting fully into the spirit of autumn in the Market with this installation by Grace and Thorn.
Take a seasonal seat, pose with a pumpkin, and if you would like us to share, tag us on Instagram @oldspitalfieldsmarket.
Autumnally-toned outfits are encouraged (but by no means essential).
Pumpkin Spice and All Things Nice
From £6, Humble Crumble
The team at Humble Crumble sure know how to push all of our seasonal buttons.
After a summer of bountiful berries, their October special features pumpkin & apple cooked in pumpkin spice. Served up in an actual pumpkin.
Of course pictures of their pumpkin wonders are already breaking the internet – get your hands on one while you can.
Ghostly Tales Spine-Chilling Stories of the Victorian Age
£17.99, InSpitalfields
Gather round, light a candle and get just-scared-enough with this tome of chilling tales.
Find it available alongside Inspitalfields’ impressive collection of mysterious and magical books and interiors.
A black cat might even cross your path…
Halloween Bubble Waffle
£6, Nosteagia
Just when you thought Nosteagia’s bubble waffles couldn’t get more Instagrammable, they have pulled this year’s show-stopping Halloween special out of the bag.
They’re using their iconic bubble waffle to create a coffin-shaped sandwich, packed with melty chocolate, ice cream and cinnamon.
Be warned, it’s gravely good.
Zucca Pizza
£8, Sud Italia
While available all year round from our little blue pizza van, Sud Italia, it’s the perfect time of year to try the “Zucca”.
Featuring Fior di latte mozzarella, Gorgonzola cheese, Extra virgin olive oil, Fresh basil, Parmesan, Pecorino Sardo D.O.P. and some oh-so-seasonal pumpkin, it’s one of our all time favourite pizzas.
Pumpkin Piñata
£1, Tiger
Beware, Tiger has a terrifyingly tempting selection of Halloween decorations at eerily accessible prices.
Here you can buy a trick or treat tote bag, fill it with ghoulish goodies and still walk away with change from a £10 note.
Halloween Outfits
From £10, Collectif
From black cats and bats to bright orange pumpkins, Collectif will ensure you can look seasonal in style.
Fancy dress means something entirely different in this retro-inspired store, where you can get an outfit befitting of Halloween, without having to look a fright.
Pumpkin Wheelcake
£3, Wheelcake Island
Wheelcake’s monthly-changing specials are always a treat and this one doesn’t miss a trick.
For all of October their sweet-but-savoury limited edition pumpkin pancake is back and not to be missed.
