This summer sees our versatile Mezzanine space above the Market come alive with a series of exciting creative workshops.
Most sessions are bookable in advance, so click through to find out more and secure your place at these upcoming events:
A wonderfully fragrant class to learn the step by step process of making bath bombs. Go home with up to 6 bath bombs, all nicely wrapped and tied with a lovely ribbon.
A taster session to try throwing miniature porcelain ceramic works on a small wheel, decorated with coloured slips and fired in an electric kiln after the event.
Come get Sprout Creative with your lil’ sprout this July in our puppet workshop special. 1 day olds to 4 year olds are invited to come get creative with their parent/carer.
Kids will discover & discuss the vibrant bird & animal imagery of the Surrealist artist Joan Miro, with each child will creating their own surrealist animal & bird painting on canvas.
Discover & discuss the legend David Bowie. Each child will work on their own creative ideas to design their own Bowie inspired T-shirt to take home.
Join The Workbench girls for a night of crafting and creativity. Run by London jewellers Katie Woodward (Crux London) and Kirstie MacLaren, carve your dream silver ring from jeweller’s wax and then let them transform your creation into solid silver.
Your child will discover & discuss the artist Frida Khalo, before working on their own creative ideas to design their own Frida inspired T-shirt to take home.
Children will discover & discuss the artist Mark Rothko, before each creating their own painted canvas using Rothko as an influence.
Your child will discover & discuss Matisse’s cutouts, before working on their own creative ideas to design their own Matisse inspired T-shirt.
Create your own book based on the theme “End of summer” or theme of your choice. A workshop where you will brainstorm ideas of a story, exploring different ways of making collages and drawing. This session is just for adults, but Lily will also be holding another session on the same day for children aged 5 – 16.
Your child will discover & discuss the vibrant polka dot imagery of the contemporary artist Yayoi Kusama, before creaing their own polka dot painting on canvas using Kusama as an influence.
Your child will discover & discuss the artist Keith Haring, before working on their own creative ideas to design their own Keith Haring inspired T-shirt to take home.
