The Kitchens form the heart of the market, a central point to enjoy all-day dining at the heated communal tables. The chefs and restaurants, many of whom are East London’s best-kept secrets, range from accomplished nose-to-tail British dining to the lightest and fluffiest Asian buns.  The eclectic mix allows you to experience a range of flavours from different cultures around the world, all in one place.

Look out for Berber and Q who focus on middle-eastern ingredients, Lahpet bring their special take on Burmese cuisine to E1 while Monty’s Jewish Deli serve The Reuben, TimeOut’s #1 sandwich in London.

Taberna‘s new Kitchen is not to be missed, get there early for their famous pastel de nata and Portugese specialities.  Join the queue for Dumpling Shack’s cult dumplings and noodles or Flank’s nose-to-tail comfort food prepared daily on an open fire.

The Kitchens have been expertly curated by renowned Chef Nuno Mendes and hospitality specialist Stephen Macintosh, the goal is to, “bring Old Spitalfields Market into the modern day, and to celebrate all of the creative people and talent within this pocket of London.” says Mendes.
