5 Ways to Feel Good in 2018 at Old Spitalfields Market

From wellness talks to reconnecting with nature, discover the latest additions to our historic marketplace, designed to make you feel good and look better.

1. Attend a Wellness Talk
From mid-January Old Spitalfields Market will host Bulletproof 2018 – a series of six enriching wellness talks that offer a toolkit of techniques for a successful and balanced 2018. Thought-provoking themes centre around the secrets of successful goal setting, mindful eating, body confidence and how to have better conversations in your career and relationships. Our handpicked speakers are inspiring coaches Harriet Waley Cohen and Mia Forbes Pirie whose notable work has helped many to feel empowered as well as improving business. The first talk starts on January 17 and we’d recommend booking early – tickets include dinner from the talented chef’s at Old Spitalfields Markets Kitchens.

2. Eat clean with Ahi Poké

One of the newest additions to the market, hailing from the distant shores of Hawaii, these raw-fish bowls will transport you and your body to a better place. For those that don’t know, a basic poke bowl consists of sashimi fish with rice and veg – here at Spitalfields you can order on, or off, the menu from a colourful bar filled with fresh seasonal ingredients. If you’re being really strict, substitute your rice for quinoa or kale and invest in the extras for a deliciously fulfilling bowl. It’s Japan meets Hawaii with a side of California, in the East End of London. Fish is sustainably sourced and packaging is completely biodegradable – we’re one hundred percent in.

3. Achieve Fitness Goals at Soma House
Committing to a course is a good technique to help stick to a new fitness regime (beyond January) and come away with a sense of accomplishment and healthier body to boot. At Soma (School of Mind Body Athletics) they have training courses for everyone, from athletes and cyclists to ballerinas and yogis. After class, reward yourself with a ‘super shake’ at their calming cafe that overlooks the marketplace. If an entire course of training is too much commitment, it’s worth checking the Soma site regularly for their inviting introductory offers.

4. Update Your Look with a Chanel Makeup Masterclass
Remember that scene in Luc Besson’s The Fifth Element when Milla Jovovich applies her makeup in a split second with a Chanel applicator from the future? Well, this might be the next best thing because throughout January, Chanel Boutique in Old Spitalfields market is offering complimentary makeup masterclasses. Experts will be on hand to help you achieve perfect skin, eyes and lips for the new season, the Chanel way of course. Contact the store for full details on the service.

5. Reconnect to Nature with Fresh Flowers from Rebel Rebel
This refined Hackney florist is one of Old Spitalfields Market’s newest additions and the perfect purchase for the new year. With a reputable store further east into Hackney, Rebel Rebel’s fresh vibrant florals are now available daily from inside the market. Expect wild seasonal blooms styled with modern creativity. An impressive client list includes White Cube, Dior, Tate, Selfridges and the Groucho Club – so if you’re buying for someone else, this will be a bunch to impress. We’d also recommend booking into one of their workshops to embrace your inner florist, reconnect with nature or just make your home look and smell wonderful.
