Christmas 2022 Light Switch On Party

Join us on the 16th November when we’ll be filling the market with light to mark the start of the festive season.

From 3pm we’ll have music by the Steel Pan Trio to get us in the festive mood and at 4.30pm the beautiful harmonies of the London Community Gospel Choir will sing us towards our light switch on.

We’re inviting families and friends of the market to join us – kids can enjoy free face painting and Christmas craft activities by ArtPlay London and adults don’t miss the chance to drop-in to join a free masterclass in paper mistletoe making by the amazingly talented Pom Pom Factory.

There will of course be mulled wine and mince pies on hand to fuel the afternoon’s festivities.

At 5pm the big light switch on will take place and this year we’ve invited long term Spitalfields resident and friend of the Market, architect Chris Dyson to do the honours.
